Unhappy internet gateway??????????

hi there can anybody tell me waht an internet gateway is ? and also I seem to have found a router and can't quite figure out how to get rid of it as i really don't want it if anyone can help with either of these that would be really great

the Gateway is just that. It allows you to get out from the gate(router) you are behind. It's the IP of the router in most cases.

There should be a default ip for your router. Have a look in your router manual.

I assume that if you install the software and connect it to your ethernet port, the software will detect the router and report an IP number. If you don't have the software, you may be able to download it from the Internet.

go to a command prompt. start run type "cmd" press enter. type in "ipconfig /all" press enter and it will show you all of the ip info you need.

u can just go into ut network connections an single clik on the router connection, and it should show up in that little details thing on the left hadn side of the window
