For over a month now, at random points throughout the day my internet goes from working great to "Unidentified network: Local Only". I have tried MANY things and searched many forums to find the fix to this, and nothing stops it from disconnecting time and time again. To get the connection back, I have to restart the laptop. Nothing else works, I've tried resetting and renewing the IP address, disabling QoS and Ipv6, using a different modem, trying to connect through ethernet as well as wi-fi, resetting winsock dhcp, and it all ends up the same. Note that it is not my router, as my PS3 has no such problem, I can play online with it all day. I find it hard to believe that it would be my network card, as both ethernet and wi-fi react the same, I re-installed vista around 2 months ago, and it worked fine for a good while. I've tried restoring to previous dates, which changes nothing, and could try another full restore though I don't know what I could do differently to prevent this, as I don't think I've accumulated any viruses.
I'm running Windows Vista 32 bit edition on a Dell Vostro. ANY help with this is much appreciated, as I usually have no problems solving network issues, but this has me stumped.
