Default Install Win7, reinstall for next update?

If i install win7 ultimate (64 bit) from the link on MS web page, when the next update/built comes out, will it just be a update or will i need to wipe and do another clean install?

yeah, thats the retail version.
as long as you have a valid product key, and activation goes through fine, all windows updates will work perfectly.

Are you asking if you will get Windows Updates or if you will have to perform a clean install once Windows 8 comes out? If your concern is about Windows 8, dont be worried. That is at least 2-3 years out from now. They have just started meetings about what features they want to include in the next version. They havent fully started work on it yet. So there is plenty of time to use Windows 7 before you have to worry about updating to a new OS.

Yeah you can update Win7 via the Windows Update. Any and all patches and updates will be available through there when they are released.
