| Check the drive cable and check your master and slave settings. What mothboard do you have.Is the hard drive new. A lot of new motherboards have a quick key option for boot.Look in your mobo book. Then reset your bios to default and reboot your computer and use the quick key to pick which drive to boot from. Also do you have more than one cd rom.Does the bios reconize your hard drive. You can also use a floppy boot disk from windows 98 to install windows xp in a pinch.Put it in bootup with cd rom support and with the win xp disk in the drive type your cd drive that the disk is in and type setup. When you use the floppy with cd rom support it will move your cd rom drive letter back 1 so your D: will be E: so you would type E:setup.I hope this helps.Let me know if I can help.Pat S. |
