Default HP Pavilion Windows XP DVD Region Setting

I just wa made aware taht the DVD setting can only be changed 5 times on XP, which I mistakenly did. Please offer suggestions, advice, or direction. Thanks in advance..

What setting are you talking about exactly? I don't understand what problem you are having with XP. Can you not use your DVD player now or something?

use DVD regionfree software or DVDgenie. there are many software to bypass regoinal settings without changing your region setting. if you cannot use your DVD drive at all you are out of luck. this can only be reset by the manuacturer

More data and thanks to those who have lent small advice so far:

The DVD machine works for European videos

it will not ofer me the option of switching to US region as the 5 switches have already occured

Can you elaborate more on the software you mention that bypasses the lock?

here are links. i do not know if there is free software to unlock dvd regions. DVD region free is definately what you want but it is not free. you can use the trial to see if you like it before buying:
