my pc is having some problems and i could only boot from 1 drive. i find my primary drive with xp installed distasteful and full of unknown, so i dont want to boot from that drive for now. my other drive has vista installed and is logical, how can i make it so my logcal drive boot to primary so it boots.

hmm, i should explain my problem first. My primary drive(XP) is not booting correctly so i want my 2nd drive(VISTA) to be the first to boot.




Both of my drives are SATA.

Switch which channel they are on (as long as they are phyisically separate drives).

Get Hiren's Boot CD. It has tons of good partition managing software and stuff on it. I think I used Paragon Partition Manager to change my NTFS Partition (which was somehow in an Extended partition) into a primary one after I had cloned it to a new drive. Doing this enabled the drive to boot, but I had to run a Fix MBR (also on Hiren's CD) to get XP to boot up properly.
