Default hidden file and folder probs

Anyone have any idea how to fix the Hidden folder/file option to stick to enable me to see them? No matter what I've done so far as in searching for solutions has worked. I can't remember them all so feel free to throw me some suggestions to re-try.

This is on a desktop XP pro 32bit by the way. Hidden file/folder options under folder options and view.

I'm not hiding them these are normal hidden folders and files on the OS.
I've scanned this system with several things to make sure it’s clean and it is. So I'm not sure what else is causing it or what other solutions to do.

thx

ARe you sure they are not system protected files you are trying to get ahold of which are still hidden even when you show all files.

Have you tried running something like TweakUI or some other Powertoy for XP which might help with this.

It just seems odd that they wont save. You have clicked apply and save and all that right?

Stupid but must ask.

Have you gone through Osiris's Guide to make sure nothing is messing with your system? This is not normal behavior so i would suspect something is trying to stop you from finding it.
