Help needed badly...Windows XP Pro didnt install!!!

hi , my mate oreder the Windows XP Professional CD from a shop and when put the disc in it boots up fine and then it gets to the reformatting HDD which goes fine and then when it begins copying files it says NTLDR File missing what do i do now ???

because everytime i turn the pc off and then turn it bak on the NTLDR File missing screen comes up and dont know what to do now....

Was this an upgrade XP from an earlier operating system.. i.e Windows 95, 98, ME? If so, then this link will help you.

I've encountered this same issue when upgrading to XP from those earlier versions. Following the instruction on this linked page fixed the problem.
