Help with directX and PC game

If had this problem in the past but now it has happened again. I'm trying to get the game 'Lord of the Rings: The battle for middle earth' to play. But everytime I start it up it closes with an error stating to make sure you have the most up to date version of directX or something along those lines. But I've already upgraded to the latest. And just to make sure I installed directX again..but still the problem persists. If anyone could help it would greatly appreciated. Im trying to get this going for a mate.

Try to uninstall DX and then reinstall it. That might do the trick.
