Default help with bios and system info

Ok guys, just picked up another comp that was given to me.

Didnt work, replaced the video card, now it does.

But the problem that I am having is that when I go into the BIOS, it shows it as a Pentium 3 processor 500 Mhz, but when I go into System info, it shows a P 2 497 Mhz.

Why would it show P 3 in Bios but P2 in system info?

I would trust the BIOS more than Windows saying it's a P2. They've been known to be wrong before .

Easiest way to find out. Download CPUz. That will tell you exactly what it is and which to believe.
