Hoping someone can recommend a program for a fairly specific purpose.

I have a fairly large MP3 collection here at the office that I need to allow other network users access to, BUT I only want them to have access to play the files, not direct access so they can edit or copy the files....I'd like to cut out as many possible "oops I deleted something" moments as possible.

I know that Windows Media Player will do this, but it is so easy to right click and open the folder the files are in....I'd love to avoid that, or at least have this not be a very obvious feature.

It would need to have a search feature that I could set to a specific shared drive and the ability to search tags as well as file names.

Any suggestions? I don't mind a pay program as long as it's not overly expensive....I'd need 10 copies or so.

You could just set the file permission to be readable, but nothing else.

I will try that. Does this prevent the copying of files? I would like to do so if possible.

No. This is only to stop people from making changes to the drive. It is harder than hard to prevent someone from just copying the files from the network to their local PC.

That's what I thought and is why I hoped a player existed that didn't give an easy option of opening the source folder.
