Default Getting by password in Vista

Well, A friend of mine just got someones laptop and they want him to "fix" the password. Whoever was using it setup a password on it and now they forgot what it was.

I have not had any experience with Vista and wouldn't know where to start when getting by the password. Does anyone here have a clue as to what I should do?

Thanks,
Lance

Windows Password Reset Disks/Tools etc.

Try some of the tips/tricks provided there. That is the only suggestion i can say. OTher than that i have not heard of any way to recover or remove a passowrd. Maybe in Safe Mode?

Search the worlds best friend for logon recovery.
I think Warez Monster has posted something in the past to recover logon passwords in the User Tutorials section, however i am unsure if this supported vista.
I'd also give this a shot, it may work on vista.
Windows XP Login Recovery - Window password recovery within minutes.

Hahaha, I know. But why would I steal a dell? I wouldn't be caught dead with it.

Okay, I will try to relay this to him. But I live in WA and he is in Alaska, so this could be interesting. Considering his technical skills with a computer are pretty basic.
