Default getting into a windows account.

Hello

I have this laptop that has an adminisator account on it, but it has a password at the windows xp log in screen. Is there anyway to get past this?

Before attempting to crack the password, try the obvious options: "admin", a blank password (jut hit enter) and any other you might think of.

Did you install the current version of Windows? Has someone ever used the administrator account?

no, i didn't install the version of windows and i don't know if anyone has ever used the admin account, they would have to install all the apps because the laptop came with MS word etc...

Ah, I see. I don't know if it's possible to hack an account password, though. I'll look into it.

Do you have an XP CD? If so, try this.

there's a unix/linux password reset cd that we use at my work
see if you can get your hands on one of those bad daddies
they work like a champ

knoppix might be able to handle this too...
