Default Garage band

Does anyone know of a program like garage band for windows? My friend has a mac and I'm really getting into this whole writing your own music ATM. Any help woud be appreciated!

The best one (hoping this is the right style) is Finale 2006. Sheet music writing style. A bit costly (it's the Photoshop of music notation).

Edit: After looking up Garageband, Finale is not what you want. I think Cakewalk Sonar is what you are looking for.

I have tried to find a program as "user friendly" as garage band, but have had no luck. I tried the Sonar Cakewalk and wow what a mess that program was...perhaps if you know how to use it it would be cool. I almost "almost" want to get a mac mini just to have garage band..but every time I have to fix a broken mac on a daily basis here at work it makes me realize how much stabler Windows XP is over OSX

I wish you could! then that would solve this entire mess..APPLE owns garage band they will never give it up to us.

You can get Finale Notepad for free at www.finalemusic.com , but that doesn't do loops and stuff like Garage Band. As someone else mentioned, Cakewalk is also a godd piece of software.
