Ok so in the last day or so i've had a new problem develop. my computer now just likes to freeze, but i wouldnt even call it that. what happens is i'll boot up i'm able to do stuff for a minute or two. then everything seems like it freezes but i can still move the mouse around, almost like everything is in a Not Responding state. I cant bring up task manager or anything i can only reboot. I really made no major changes to anything so i dunno why this problem would just crop up out of nowhere. there has been a windows update that i didnt install because every time ive tried it would not finish the install and would freeze. anyone know whats going on? thanks

Well if his comp keeps freezing a web scan or most scans wont finish cuz his system will prob lock up in the middle of it. Try one of these:

1)Norton 2005 has a virus scan you can run on boot

2)Try Barts boot disks (http://www.nu2.nu/bootdisk/cdrom/) they are great for virus removal

3)UBCD is also great for this type of problem (http://www.mrbass.org/ubcd/)

4)Barts PE is really nice if you like a GUI. http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/

have you checked msconfig to make sure nothing was loading that shouldnt be?
