Exclamation Firefox opens links in tabs

I messed around with the menus after I reformatted and still can't figure out how to stop Firefox from opening some links in new tabs. I want all links to be opened in the same tab unless I tell it to. This bugs me a lot so I really appreciate the help.

It should be under Tools>options or Preferences or something like that. There is a option menu that controls where your downloads go to and all that. Check the Tab part of that and change the settings.

Just checked my Firefox install. It is under Tools>Options.

yeah, like i said: I fittled around with the setting but I can't seem to find it. I am running 2.0.0.9 and I looked through the advanced tabs and all of that but I don't see it. Either I went blind or the newer version doesn't have that setting anymore.

It seems Firefox removed this feature. Might have to get one of the many tab extensions that they have.
