Default File/folder access within 'Documents & Settings' folder

Hi,

I have replaced my h/d in my laptop and I am now using the old drive in an external usb caddy, however I cannnot get access to my personal folder within 'Documents and Settings'.

I can access 'All Users' and 'Administrator', but not the personal one.

How can I get access to those files?

Cheers

Justin

not sure if this will work, but you can try changing the owner of the folder. I know that worked for me when I couldn't access a folder because of permissions.

That's most likely exactly the problem.

Here's how to:

Note: you'll probably have to boot into Safe Mode to access the Security tab of the properties window.

No problem, glad you got it working.

I know I had to boot into safe mode to do it, lol, hence why I recommended it =).
