Question Fading Transparency Efftects in WinXP

Was wondering what is the best method/program for adding transparency effects into Win XP. I'm currently running XP Pro SP1 and would like to add a transparent effect simular to those included with AIM+. When windows in AIM+ are inactive they "fade" into a transparent state untill clicked. I have yet to find a transparency program that has this "fade when inactive" feature.
Any info appreciated.

Thanks
