Default f8 key

Sorry to irritate, but wouldn't be here if I knew enough about computers. I've just been advised to put my computer into safe mode by tapping on f8 key as it boots up. Should solve the prob of restore. Is my information correct.

Correct...tapping F8 will get you into various options from which you can boot.

What is the restore problem?

Thanks, I'm trying to resolve a problem by restoring to a previous date. So far no luck, telling me it is unable to restore to chosen date, (and I've now tried all dates available to me). Told it could be because I'm not operating in 'safe mode' (what is that?)

Hello,

Safe Mode allows you to operate without all teh drivers and other applicaitons starting up on your computer. Safe Mode will only start the necessary items needed to run the PC and that is it. IT is used as a recovery enviroment.

Cheers,
Mak
