| I am in a media studies course at school and as part of an assignment we have to make a documentary. I would like to include about 30 seconds of a New Zealand television series in the documentary. The only issue is that it is on DVD. Is there a way (either using PC or Mac) to extract some scenes from a DVD (one that is encrypted in this case) that can then be added into a movie editing suite such as Windows Movie Maker, or iMovie. From my understanding, copyright laws get a little wishy washy when it comes to eductional use so I am not sure of the legality of this process. I am not interested in doing this for personal use after I have finished the documentary. I would also appreciate help - if you don't want to help me with my project then please don't post on how this could be/is illegal.
