Default Export Outlook Express Messages to Outlook

I have a computer using Outlook Express and need to move those messages to a new computer running Outlook. When I try using the export tool under file, it creates a file that has 0kb size, even though it takes about an hour to run. What other ways is there to export these messages?

Thanks

save them as an archive and then copy the archive to the new outlook folder you have and see if you can add them

in outlook click file, import/export...select import from another program, then select outlook express, it may say no internet mail found, then you will get a prompt that will say would you like to import mail and addresses from outlook express. Is this on the same computer.
