got another question.

someone is trying to add a hyperlink in an excel workbook that someone else has created. But the hyperlink "option" is "grayed out". the file is a shared document.

does it happen on all cells?

try creating a new excel file and see if you can add a hyperlink.

You might need to take ownership of the file. Copy it into the user computer.

Also the Excel work sheet may have protection on it.
