Default dvd ripper

i dont know if this is the right forum but it is software so i posted here

what is the best dvd ripper out there?

one that im looking for includes:

avi/dvix format
video is viewable on computer without to much work
easy to use

yeah im pretty sure there legal beacuse im just using it to rip the contents of my own dvd's onto my harddrive so i can watch them on trips etc.

DVD Shrink can rip a DVD to an ISO so you can virtually mount it later.

well, yeah, i'm sure what you want to do is legal, but the programs themselves, haven't they been outlawed like quite a while ago?

if your movie aren't encrypted, a simple copy and paste will do

a free one is DVDx2.0, it can compress and encode with divx, super video, and mpeg4 (xvid). if you want one with an easy to use interface try dr.divx. for the most part once you install the codec you can use any media player to play back the video.
