i just recently installed a beta of windows 7 on my pc. where can i find the drivers for my dlink wireless adapter.its a dwl520. where can i find them

how come when i click on add a device it just stays at the the searching screen for devices. is it supposed to take forever?

Honestly, don't know.

Not too sure where youre at.. But what i think youre to do is using the device manager, the wireless should have a yellow !. Using that you then let windows find best driver, with the cd in the drive.

i click on device manager then click on add a device and then it says searching for devices...... make sure that your device is discoverable. and it stay on that screen forever.why?!?!?

so say i cant get this to work. how easy would it to be install a phone jack in my room so i can put the router and modem in my room. so i can connect.is that easy to do???

Does the Device Manager show the wireless card? If not then searching for a wireless signal will take forever cause you cant find one without a device installed.

Have you checked the DLink site for the drivers for your device to install it properly?

Yha mak, it was discontinued in '07... not even vista support.

Does the card show up at all in the manager? With an ! mark? Or is it not up to that psart yet?

It does work in xp correct?

As per new jack... it'll be cheaper and easier to buy a new card.

it worked for xp perfectly. which is what i dont understand. there is a yellow ! on it. it shows up under device manager and everything. i dont know why it wont work.i can install the dlink program and everything but i cant connect to the internet. any ideas why it wont work.

What you dont understand is that the drivers for XP can NOT be used in Vista or Win7. It is NOT the same. NEW Drivers are needed. Since there are no drivers for it, as presented by the yellow !, that means that the device is not working and only DLink can provide you with the fix by giving you the proper drivers.
