i'm not sure but i think when i turned the windows aero thing i got a bit of frame boost but i'm not sure if the windows aero will affect my game performance and also if it does i don't want to switch it off and on when i play games so i want to know if it really does slow down the games or not. thanks.

Turn it off for games. Most games that are Vista compatable should turn it off automatically. As should Vista. But if it doesnt get turned off turn it off. You will only notice maybe a FPS gain. But nothing like 10 or anything like that. You will only get a frame maybe 2. It doesnt really slow down games. But running with a GB of RAM doesnt help. If oyu had more this wouldnt be a issue.
