Default Deleting this $(*# file...

Okay I downloaded Spy Sweeper and some error message came up and told me to reinstall. So I try to delete the existing Spy Sweeper thats already installed. I was able to delete every file from the program EXCEPT....SSCtxMnu.dll - Under it says 3.0.0.118 ( I guess that's the version?) and Spy Sweeper Context Menu.

How am I going to delete this file???

Hi,

I'm not that familiar with the SpySweeper program but...

Do you mean that you uninstalled it by deleting the files rather than using the "Add/Remove Programs" dialog in the control panel? Or did it have that option?

It may be that the file, that you can't delete, may be in use or still resident in running processes.
Try restarting your PC and try again.
Failing that restart in Safe Mode and give it a try.

I usually cut and paste it to a different DIR, rename it, then delete it as the system doesn't think it's the same file then

sometimes that can happen on registered files. only way to remove them is go into a command prompt (yes, u may need a boot disk), unregister it, then remove it from safe mode. Also a registry search for the file and the program it was associated to will sometimes allow u to remove it, 'course only do this if you know what your doing or you'll screw things up big time.
