It will be of much better service to you. Norton is not that good of a product and could very likely have missed something that is causing this.

Okay, thanks for the link! I dumped Norton AV and went with the free AVG Anti-virus. I followed all instructions in the guide written by Osiris per your instructions. Let me know what you think of my Hijackthis log below:

Is this problem solved? Are you able to access the Control when you change your password? Was it related to spyware?

Just want to make sure that it was resolved before i close out this thread.

It got to the point that I could not get into User Accounts, could not get into the Windows Firewall, and could not uninstall programs with Add/Remove. I don't know if it specifically was spyware/virus but I do know that using Orisis' proceedure the various tools did remove some things. I did not see specifically an indication that a particular spyware/virus was identified.

I am able to open up all the Control Panel functions now. Thank you so much for your help.

Glad it is all sorted now. It doesnt matter that we cant identify which one did it as long as it is gone and working now.
