I recently downloaded a file mandrake 9.2 file 3 of 3.
Now i tried to copy it frrom one location in my hard disk to another, but it is giving me a crc error. why would it be so?
i have not done anything with the file. was there a problem in the download?

Yes, there is an error in the cycle redundancy. Basically, download it again. Possibly from a different source.

How about while installing a game, during half way prompt out CRC error, is it mean that the CD spoil?

so does this mean that the file i have on my drive is corrupted, or the copy of the file that i try to copy onto another location getrs corrupted?
