Yes that is normal behavior. You cant check the system drive if the system drive is in use.
What happens when you restart? It should then go throught he chkdsk and find and repair the problems.

Nothing else you can do really. There isnt anyone you can contact. You should have gotten all that information via email. It should be from the site you ordered it from.
