Default copy paste error?

Im trying to move my movie folder to a new hd. My movie folder is around 400 gigs also. It does a few, then this comes up DATA ERROR(Cyclic redundancy check) and then stops. Alwasy the same movies, about one in ten. But, i can still watch the movies. How do i move them over without this error? ive done error checking on both hd's, and transfered about 200 gigs to the new harddrive of other stuff already so it works for sure

thanks-tainted

You cant watch them as you move them. :S How can you move a file that is being used. Plus do not try to move the whole folder at once. 400GB is a lot to move while still trying to use your PC. Move it in batches of 10GB or 50GB at a time.

The error you are getting is when it is trying to move a part of a file and it cant because it is currently being used (Watched?) or the place it is going to is busy and all that is happening is that the discs are spinning. You will end up causing damage to the HDD.

are you using vista?

Edit: I've go to stress I know nothing about Vista, but this might be relevant: Vista - Fix Large File Copy and Network Disconnects - Windows Central Forums

Or it might just be that you have hardware / driver problems (though its odd if its always that same movies)
