It was a logical partition. I have already reinstalled windows. 18 programs left to install.

you need software other than acronis as it copies everything including empty space

Only if you use the sector by sector mode. The regular partition backup mode packs the files similar to Winrar. Slack space isn't copied either.

I never use it to clone a hdd, but I use it to backup one. it backup the empty space too, so I'd assumed that it cloned it in the same manner
