I have both Memorex and HP brand CD-RWs, which both produce errors in writing. I also had a problem with them with one of my older computers. So can we conclude that the CDs are no longer usable?

first have a friend or family member try to burn something to one of the cd's to see if it works. also the cheap $40 dvd drives do fail alot so if they are able to burn to the disks you may have to replace the drive.

My dvd drive only fails when I use these CD-RWs. It never failed for writing DVD-RWs, DVD-Rs, and CD-Rs. So I think it's the CD-RWs that failed. But I will try them with a friend's computer.
