Cant reformate with windows XP !!

I try to reformate my pc with windows xp and I cant get past the license aggrement, I press F8 to agree and it does nothing at all, what can I do?

Is the keyboard working? When you get to that point can you push the "num lock" key and see the light go on and off?

try a different cd drive.

is this a copy? if it is maybe it needs to be recopied

maybe a bad cd?

Does your keyboard work? is it usb or ps2? did you try another keyboard?

My keyboard is ps2, the light goes on when I press num lock, I can end the setup by pressing esc and I can page up and down on the license aggrement, But I press F8 to agree and I get nothing at all. Should I try windows 2000? I tryed with 2 differnet xp disks ( a Burnt copy and a dell reinstallation cd with xp home edition on it) bolth do the same exact thing.

wow..you have a spare keyboard to try? Maybe the F8 key has issues...doubtful..but hey better to eliminate all possible situations

I have a usb keyboard, will that work?

If you have a USB port to plug it into, I don't see why not. If pressing F8 on it does nothing, too, then you can count out the keyboard as the root of your problem.
