cant open msi's

I recently tried opening a .msi file, but i couldnt get it to install. Why could this be?, im using vista home edition.

Are the files corrupt? Have you tried to redownload them?

yeah ive re downloaded them 3 times and nothing. It was the terragen installer. I downloaded twice from the official site and again from download.com and still it didnt read.

The "which program would you like to open this" window comes up.

Have you tried a different browser? Have you scanned with Osiris's guide?
