Several times now I've downloaded a .exe off the net (for example a trainer) and found that I couldn't extract the executable from the zip file. Any other files will extract fine only the executable won't. Testing the zip file I find no errors, nor am I given one during the extraction. I have tried in both Winrar and 7zip. I only recently found that if I went into the properties of the zip file it would say 'This file came from another computer and so may be blocked' with an Unblock button beside it. So I clicked unblock, but I'm still having the same problems. This is on Vista so I can only assume that its blocking the file thinking it could be dangerous, even though I have tried to tell it not to. Any ideas how to fix this?
Edit: I'm starting to get mad now. I extracted the file on another computer on my network. It won't let me copy the file from the shared folder onto my computer. So I tried uploading the file to a free web host and downloading it, but it says 'I don't have permission.' Finally I put the file onto a usb only to watch my computer immediatly erase the file once I open the folder it's in. There is nothing I find more infuriating than my computer doing something I don't want it to, most likely because its been programmed that way to 'protect' me.
Also as a side note, for some reason my Windows Media Player on Vista continues to play even after I close it. As if it is still running in the background. I can't find any option for this in the menus, is there some way to change this?
