I can't change the background on my dell laptop. Even the original windows backgrounds are greyed out. When i try to right click on a picture and set is as background, nothing happens. None of that "Its not working because its a dell" bs.

you have tryed changing through right clicking on the desktop > properties > desktop tab ?? if so what happens ?

Assuming you are in the admin group this is odd.

Yeah thats what i tried to do but the all of the choices are grayed out.....
I am trying to change the background on the administrator account.

let us know how the administration account goes. that is really wierd never heard about the options being greyed out...

video drivers are there and the problem persists with the admin account.

Do a virus scan I had one that wouldn't let me change my desktop, or try doing a search on google for a picture and right click and set as desktop background.
