I changed the bios settings to boot from CD drive first. Then I removed booting from hard drives. Then a message comes up saying to insert boot media or choose another type of booting, or something along those lines.


The CD is in the drive, it shows up in bios, but the CD doesn't boot up, it keeps saying to insert boot media and press any key, everytime I press a key, the same message comes up and I couldn't get to the formatting and re-installing part.

Is this an original XP cd or did you make it and if you made it can you confirm on another machine that it is bootable?

I made it myself and I don't have another computer that I can test if it is bootable, which would be a problem wouldnt it :/

yes it would, its possible that it isnt bootable which is why u are having this issue
