This one has me stumped! I run XP on my primary HD (20 G) - works great. Just installed XP on a primary partition (30 G) on my secondary HD (200 G) - I want to set up an Internet business and want to keep it separate. Only programs installed on the new partition besides XP is System Mechanic and Kaspersky AV. Everything installed perfectly. Now, I can't execute anything. Can't get into SM to optimize settings. Can't even shut down XP (have to reset). Nothing is working.
Any suggestions?

Absolutely. I need my business separated from all the junk on my primary drive. I've installed dual versions of XP before but this time, nothing is working. As I said, I can't even shut it down.

Are they both on the same partition?

no mak i think he stated that they were diffrent partitions, on diffrent harddrives even.
