as for the check disk right click the drive in my computer > properties > tools tab > error checking > check now > check both boxes > then start

When I did that with the cmd prompt it gave me this error

data error <cyclic redundancy check>.

I am trying the disk check now , its having me restart pc before it does it so gonna do that now..

Well ran the diskcheck...took about an hour...

Windows loaded back up and the directory was deleted..

The drive holds 189gb there is 87.9gb actually used then there is 35.4gb free...

There is 65.7gb missing.....how can that be?

The entire folder I was trying to access was deleted by doing that disk check...guess it doesnt matter now...

ya just recover them you should be able to get most if not all files back.

make an erd iso. burn it as a disc image with nero, alcohol or power iso. boot from it. it has a recover deleted file option
