Default Can not install XP on my 2nd build (pci.sys error)

Guys, I am working on a new build and have ran into a problem.

I am trying to install the OS onto my new build. The CD takes a few minutes to load everything (where it goes through all the devices at the bottom). Then once it starts "initializing Windows", or whatever, I get a BSOD with the following 'stop error':

pci.sys - Address F748EOBF...something something.

My MB is a Gigabyte ep45-ud3r. When booting up with only my new SATA HDD installed, I get this message. Some research led me to suspect it was related to using SATA devices on an old XP installation disk. I switched out the SATA devices with my old IDE ones, and received the same error. I can boot up to Windows fine with the copy that is still installed on my old IDE HDD, with no issues. But cannot install XP on my new HDD, and also get the error when trying to install XP overtop the one on my old HDD.

Oh, and I ran the same disk on a laptop and it does not give this error.

Here is a more complete transcription of the error:

STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0xF748E0BF, 0XF78DA208, 0xF78D9F08)

*** pci.sys - Address F748E0BF base at F7487000, DateStamp 3b7d855c

Default Re: Can not install XP on my 2nd build (pci.sys error)

This is usually related to a USB device being connected upon install. Leave only the mouse and keyboard installed when trying to install XP.

Also what SP is on the disc that you are using?

Moved to correct forum.
