Bootable backup software

Hey guys, I'm in need of some backup software that I can use without loading windows. I need to gain access to and backup a single folder (multiple GB) from my 250gb WD that does not boot.

I have a backup of that folder, but its about a month old and I would really like to have an updated version of it before I reinstall windows.

The software has to support USB, because I'll need to move the folder to an external HDD.

Hmm, I can't seem to find a place to download it (though I didn't intensively seach google..) I'm seriously in need of sleep, maybe some one can spot me a link

I'm still confused about the ERD, i know how to make one in 2000 but not xp. Is there a place to download the files someone could point me to? Also, what do I need to do when I get it to backup the folder?
