Default Bluetooth on windows vista

Bluetooth is an evil word on Vista.......

This is basically a continuation of the post
Vista Bluetooth Support

Since nobody reads posts with replies>=1.

Im pretty sure that this is the result of many court cases calling for the reduction of functionality on windows, due to competition.

So whose the competition in the bluetooth market.
Why of-course widcomm and bluesoleil.

Ive already tried widcomm with many problems on vista....and i dont recommended.

Ive already used older versions of bluesoliel, so why not try it.....

Ok, so basically I obtained Bluesoliel 3.0 and installed it.
Now the problem is to get it to work on my laptop.

The machine is an IBM Thinkpad Z61m with built-in EDR-2.0 from broadcom.
Does anyone know how to make this work with bluesoliel ?

I have options for
USB
UART
PCMCIA
BCSP

None seem to work.....
Is there a solution of making this work....?
Emulation of a USB device ? etc....?

atomic tofu is on a distinguished road

Default Re: Bluetooth on windows vista

I've gotten bluetooth to work on vista...and I'm still using the RC2

I was wondering if FULL Bluetooth functionality was ever added back in to retail but I guess not? hmmm

Should I tell? I could just post a link to how I got it to work? Would you like me to tell you?

I'll tell later...gotta go shopping.

EDIT: Here you go, don't let the information in the link confuse you too much. Make sure to read the responses, as it may help you if the main stuff does not work.

The odd thing, is I was able to get my bluetooth functional with my bluetooth device's manufacturers drivers for a while...then fiddled around and broke it some how, lol...this way worked.
