Default Averatec recovery partition

I have the 3200. http://www.averatec.com/notebooks/3200series.htm

Recovery partition on HD, accessible by hitting F4 on startup. How could I put linux on this thing, without wrecking that partition? It's hidden on the drive (windows only sees c

Also, if i made recovery discs, would they recover the system to default no matter what I put on it?
