Default Audio Issues

Volume on speakers and monitor were working fine one day and the next there is no volume whatsoever and there is no volume icon on the toolbar. checked toolbar properties, and control panels device manager. it cant find any audio devices either.

On windows xp home edition sp2

Not sure if this might have wiped out some stuff but i did have to clean out and reboot my whole computer about a month ago but the volume has been working until recently.

Any ideas? Thanks

Lets see..

I'm not that familiar with hardware devices but it states there is an audio codec, and a legacy audio driver along with some other video devices. All are stated to be working fine but if you go threw the control panel and look under volume/audio there is either no audio device found or no default device

Try reinstalling your audio drivers.
