Just one more bit of advice needed. In this thread yesterday I said a way of solving the problem was to disable defender in system config, I also said there was another way of sorting the issue out but I had forgoten. Well I have found the other solution on the web and wanted to know if using this solution will enable them both to work together in harmony? I will post the steps and tell me what you think, it says that defender will start automaticaly, it doesn't give the error message when you follow these steps but does it mean that defender is actually running.
Pathway to Success - follow these prompts for Vista!!!!!
go to Control panel-then Administration Tools - Computer Managerment - Service Application - Services - find windows defender in Services you will notice it will be blank or disabled - now you have to high light windows defender, double click and then select automatic, click on the word Start - apply changes and re boot your computer - and we know this works because it took us 4 HOURS to complete and ours works fantastic - good luck !!!!
