xfatalherox,

I haven't had a prolem with AVG free, so thiat is what I use and recomend. You will Also need Spyware detection software adaware & spybot will do the job for you. (you need to D/L ALL 3 applications)

AVG free:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/avg-anti.../lng/us/tpl/v5
+
Spybot: http://www.safer-networking.org/
+
Adaware: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

if you want AVAST Home edition is free and quite good, as opposed to AVG if you were so inclined:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

if you want a comerical version then NOD32 is the best: http://www.eset.com/

It is recomended you D/L the anti-spyware stuff regardless of the Antivirus you use as spyware/adware aer different to viruses.

hope this Helps,

Jake

Ive tried kasperspy, avast, and AVG free, i had AVG free for the longest and avast i thought the UI was horrid so uninstalled it after 5mins! now ive got NOD32 and its brilliant, everything i look for in an anti virus, great protection and doesnt hog the system, infact i dont know its running and updating automatically until i look on the updates section and it tells me! very impressed with it
