I reformatted my computer, about 3-4 days ago. Since then, I've had a VERY annoying problem with my USB ports. I have several flash drives, and several SD cards paired with a card reader. If I am to leave them in the USB slot, longer than 5 minutes AFTER use, it pops up with the Removable Disk 'What would you like Windows to do' crap. I press cancel, as I have no reason to use it at that moment. It will do that, even if the drive has been in the computer for days. About 15-20 minutes, a new Removable Disk window pops up. I don't want this functionality to stop, but I would like to be able to keep my flash drives/SD cards in the computer, without that pop up every so often. Any solutions? It did not do this before the installation of Windows XP Professional.

Have you installed the chipset drivers for your mother board? Also when that window pops up do you have the option to select always do this action?
