Okay, so I'm working with Vista Ultimate 64 bit here along with vLite. I'm using Ubuntu Hardy/XP Pro currently and I will be upgrading both OS's to Ubuntu Intrepid 64 bit + Vista Ultimate 64 bit. Due to problems I had with XP Pro and my motherboard (since XP didn't have my SATA driver installed - how nice of them) I had to slipstream the driver to a new XP cd (or else use a floppy, which I haven't owned one of those in years). So, I'm trying to cut the BS this time and use vLite.
Now, I'm typing this from memory, since I'm back in Ubuntu as I type this... but... I installed vLite from download.com and it says it's compatible to install on XP Pro.
But when I go to run it, it prompts me to install MAIK. Okay, fine. I click install, it goes to Microsoft web site which has me download this 2gb iso file and burn it as an image. Okay, I do that. I install everything on this image DVD after it's all said and done. Okay! Back to vLite.
So I open vLite, and it still prompts me to install this BS. I click install, back to MS's site I go. But, I thought I installed everything on it. Why am I going in circles?
...Or if someone could verify if Vista would have Asus P5QL SATA drivers pre-configured that'd work too!
