Default Active desktop recovery will NOT go away!

I have an employee that his company laptop crashed with a BSOD. It came back up to the desktop to the active desktop recovery screen. So now every single time it boots it comes to this.

How do I correct this problem?

Turn off Active Desktop and it should resolve itself.

you could also use a registry cleaner to fix any registry issues that may be causing that error. CCleaner works well, and its free.

It isnt a Registry Error. XP had the option for Active Desktop. Which requires constant internet access. This was a very common error. The fix was to always disable the Active Desktop. You can always re-enable it later.
