Hello,
Did you purchase the boxed retail version of Acronis True Image 11? If so it should have come with a bootable CD for restoring image files.
Note: The manual will tell you how to restore image files:
http://s4u.download.acronis.com/pdf/...ge11_ug.en.pdf
If your boxed retail version didn't come with a bootable CD, or if you purchased and downloaded the product online, you would have had to create a bootable media using the
Bootable Rescue Media Builder in order to be able to restore image files outside of the operating system (that is, restoring without an OS installed / without booting into Windows).
Alternatively, you may have enabled the
Acronis Startup Recovery Manager which allows you boot into Acronis True Image without loading the OS. This would have required the creation of the
Acronis Secure Zone (which is a secure recovery partition created on the hard drive) using Acronis True Image. If you did this, and assuming that the Acronis Secure Zone partition is still intact on the hard drive, then when you turn your computer on, you should be prompted to press
F11 to start the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager.
If you weren't provided with a
bootable CD, didn't create a
bootable rescue media or didn't create an
Acronis Secure Zone and enable the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager then your only option is to re-install Windows XP, install Acronis True Image and restore the image using the software when booted into Windows.
